This website, and the election campaign it is for, are not current. It was built for the 2010 general election, and is only kept online as an archive copy.

Prototype / demo site

I now have a prototype / demo site available to show how some of my ideas might work in practise:

Virtual Parliament for Hackney South and Shoreditch  [demo site no longer live]

Please note that this is not the real/eventual site, and it is not a preview of the real/eventual technology - it is a prototype to demonstrate the general idea of 'direct digital democracy'.  In particular, the eventual site will have more emphasis on adding information resources to discussions, and focussing discussions around those resources.  It will also offer more ways to find issues you might be interested in discussing and voting on, and it will offer more ways to look at poll results (local/regional/national/global).  Finally, it will be built with far more attention to potential security issues.

Nonetheless, I would like to thank the Democracy 2.0 project for allowing me to use their Virtual Parliament system for the prototype / demo site.  I hope to continue working with them after the election to replace their prototype software with something more secure and with an improved list of features.
